Arizona IANDS Experience Sharing (AIES) is a non-profit, registered 501c3 affiliate of International Association for Near Death Studies, Inc (IANDS) and is eligible for tax deductible donations.
Individuals who are members of IANDS at any level are automatically eligible, at no extra cost, for major discounts at the bookstore, on registration fees for special events and via the shopping cart at on this web site.
Signup online at on this web site or at any event by Arizona AIES and we will receive a commission that helps fund events and activities in Arizona.
When you become a member of the Arizona chapter of IANDS you also get a membership in the International Association for Near Death Studies, Inc. If you are over 65 or a full time student, you are eligible for a discount on memberships above the Basic level.
Prominent individuals, often noted authors, that share their experiences and / or research with the audience, followed by Q&A. These are scheduled monthly from October through May.

Sharing / Discussion Small Groups
A support style format that’s primary purpose is to create a safe, peer group for sharing and exploring near-death and similar experiences plus related topics. Open to experiencers and interested others. Guided by facilitators to promote respect for individual uniqueness.
Plus, occasional bonus events… workshops, informational videos, social gatherings, etc
Dr. Kenneth Ring, psychologist, researcher, founder of IANDS and co-author of the book “Lessons from the Light” published after 20 years studying the NDE phenomenon, coined the term “benign virus”, to describe the effect on people exposed to the subject as being similar to the transformational after-effects noted in people who have these experiences.
Nearly 40 years of research demonstrate that when people learn about near-death and similar experiences, they are positively transformed like the experiencers themselves as follows:
Loss of fear of death.
Less materialistic, more altruistic in use of time and resources.
More compassionate and loving.
More sensitive to the effect of one’s behavior on others.
More spiritual and less dogmatically religious or atheistic.

Tucson IANDS Experience Sharing (TIES): Click on the EVENTS link above for currently scheduled events… typically guest speaker events will be held on second Fridays monthly (except July and August) in the Unity of Tucson sanctuary. The sharing groups will meet on the fourth Fridays monthly in the Unity of Tucson annex building. The start time for events is 6:30 pm MST. A donation of $10 for non-members and $5 for members is requested for the 2nd Friday guest speaker events. No one is ever turned away for lack of funds. Sharing groups are on a voluntary donation basis. Please join us in this spiritually welcoming to all community. Unity address: 3617 N Camino Blanco, Tucson, AZ 85718.
The AZ IANDS 2024-2025 Speaker Series has wrapped up. We are busy planning the 2025-2026 Speaker Series, and we’ll let you know who we have lined up later this summer, before the new season begins in September 2025.
